Sonu Nigam Controversy: Bollywood's famous singer Sonu Nigam is constantly in controversy due to his recent statement. Now, a complaint has been filed against the singer. Recently, during a concert, Sonu Nigam allegedly commented on a Kannada fan's request linking it to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
FIR filed against Sonu Nigam
In fact, the president of the Bengaluru city district of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) has filed a complaint against Sonu Nigam, claiming that his comments have incited hatred against linguistic communities in Karnataka and may trigger violence. The complaint states, "Sonu Nigam's statements have caused great pain to the Kannada community. By equating a simple cultural request to sing a Kannada song to a terrorist act, Mr. Nigam has portrayed Kannada people as intolerant or violent, which is contrary to their peace-loving and harmonious nature". Sonu Nigam gave this controversial statement
For your information, Sonu Nigam said in a music event held in Bangalore, "I did not like that there was a boy who was not even his age before me, that I was singing Kannada songs. He was threatening me so badly, 'Kannada, Kannada'. This is the reason for what happened in Pahalgam, right? This is the reason for what you are doing, what you did just now, right? Look who is standing in front of you. I love Kannada people, I love you guys". This statement of the singer gave rise to controversy on social media.
28 people killed in the terrorist attack
On 22 April 2025, 28 people were killed and many others injured in a terrorist attack on tourists at a grassy field in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Since then, many celebrities have condemned the attack and urged the government to take strict action against terrorists.
